Liverton Trading Estate

Orange Hawkweed. Another day, another load of questionable ids. An hour spent in the insalubrious surroundings of the Liverton trading estate. I've learned that waste ground provides a rich hunting ground for plants!

Lesser Swine-cress.

Swine-cress.

A Willowherb species starting to emerge in numbers now.

Guelder Rose.

Yorkshire Fog.

Smooth Tare.

Annual Meadow-grass.

Possibly Meadow Foxtail?

Perennial Rye-grass.

Corky-fruited Water-dropwort. And below.

Annual Beard-grass?

This is the first time I've found Salad Burnet in Exmouth. Such a stunning flower.

Lesser Stitchwort - nearby on the Dinan Way bank, opposite Lidl.

Large Skipper - from a couple days ago in the back garden.

  1. Agree with Annual Beard Grass. I encounter large quantities of this on my local patch which is the area of a golf course development. Not sure how it got here as not locally native but abundant here. Quite a bit of Canary Grass-another non-native here.

  2. Hi Neil - it's a good job at least some grasses are identifiable. I really struggle with them but intend to persevere. Thanks again for all you help. Best wishes. Matt
