Two Ospreys and High Brown Frit

Two Ospreys fishing the lower reaches of the Exe shortly after 6am this morning. One bird plonked down in the shallow water, too impatient to wait for some mud to appear. Other species noted included 6 Dunlin, 1 Knot, 8+ Sandwich Tern, 2 Common Tern, 3+ Mediterranean Gull, 4+ Whimbrel and 9 Mallard, signalling the start of the late summer wildfowl build-up.

Lunch with Lu in the 'Hound of the Baskervilles', in Ashburton, was combined with a short walk around Aish Tor, where a small number of High Brown Fritillaries were seen. Sods to photograph today though.
