Sand Martins

Case-bearing Clothes Moth - I think. Either way it's a very unwelcome guest in our house.

Mudbank today - c150+ Curlew, 12+ Whimbrel, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 11+ Sandwich Tern, 11 Mediterranean Gull and, most surprisingly, 30+ Sand Martin feeding together out over the estuary this evening.

I can't suss out this moth. I'm assuming it's an 'Elachista' but I can't find a match in the books or on ukmoths. Perhaps I'm going down the wrong route?

This juvenile Green Woodpecker has been creating a right din the last couple of weeks. Tonight it was feeding with an adult just around the corner, on Halsdon Avenue. The ants' nests are at the base of the wall.
