The view from Exmouth seafront looking across to the Warren and Langstone Rock late yesterday, and a rare glimpse of the sun on an otherwise foggy day. There looked to be a decent sized gathering of large gulls but I didn't have the scope so I couldn't go through them.
Mudbank this morning - 135+ Pintail, 2 Shovelers and the first-winter drake Scaup still. Also 2 Goldeneye, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, c300+ Dunlin, 1 Chiffchaff and 3 Grey Wagtails. Little birding done with lots to do before Christmas.
Part of this morning's Dunlin flock - we never get these numbers in the spring or autumn when we could do with them to lure vagrants in! The Black-tailed Godwit is also in this flock.
Scaup and Pintails
Shoveler pair - infrequent in Exmouth.
