Scaup - Mudbank
I checked a few sites first thing this morning and then walked the dog, with Joel, to Lympstone for lunch. Late this afternoon - really pleased to bump in to Derek down at Mudbank.
On Maer Rocks this morning - 76 Dark-bellied Brent Geese and 1 Turnstone with a fly-by Red-throated Diver and 4 Goldcrests with 2 Chiffchaffs in the sallows below Foxholes. Distantly off there were c15+ Great Crested Grebes, c30+ Common Scoters and 2 diver sp that were probably Great Northerns.
Mudbank yielded the regular drake Scaup (though it was mysteriously absent this afternoon), 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Peregrine, 90+ Pintail, 12 Ringed Plovers, 50+ Redshank, 2 Knot, 5+ Grey Plovers and c200+ Dunlin as well as the other usual stuff. A Blackcap was again in gardens just a few doors up from us.
