Small Grass Emerald - lots of these active on the commons this morning. Other heathland species seen over the last few days include Common Heath, Emperor Moth, Horse Chestnut, Small Purple-barred, Brown Silver-line and Grey Gorse Piercer Cydia ulicetana.
Heath Spotted Orchid
Yellowhammer. Other birds on this morning's walk included 2+ Crossbill, 2 singing Dartford Warbler, c20+ Sand Martin, 4 singing Whitethroat, 12 singing Willow Warbler and decent numbers of Stonechat, Meadow Pipit and Siskin.
A brief look off Mudbank revealed a lone Dark-belied Brent Goose and 15+ Sanderling.
