A first-summer Little Gull was off Mudbank most of the morning - on or around Cockle Sands so never terribly close. There early on and still present 11am at least. Also off there - 17+ Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 drake Mallard, 7+ Black-headed Gulls, c20 Dunlin, 35+ Whimbrel, 55 Carrion Crows, 1 Grey Plover and 6 Sandwich Terns. Very little on Orcombe, with just 1 Sedge Warbler still singing away, and offshore - 1 Red-throated Diver and 8 Mute Swans.
A Reed Warbler is still singing in the West Lodge reedbed.
This pale raptor crossed the river really high up, around 3pm yesterday. If felt good for HB but I was unable to do anything with it as it just got further and further away from me.
Just catching up with your posts Matt. Such a great variety of Green-winged Orchids. Hoping I may catch up with some this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Neil - seems to be more variety than ever this year. Good luck at the weekend! All the best. Matt.
