Ruddy Shelduck

Frustratingly distant - this Ruddy Shelduck flew over the Warren this morning and ended up on Exminster Marshes. We were just deciding where to go for an Easter Sunday dog-walk when news of this came through, so that's where we ended up. Also there - a pair of Pintails and a Little Ringed Plover. Bumped into lots of familiar faces and great to meet Luke Harman.

There are a fair few Roe Deer on farmland around Orcombe, but I don't very often bump into them. Terribly quiet up there bird-wise - a fly-over Redpoll the best by far. Good to bump into Rupert this morning. Nearby off Mudbank - 10 Red-breasted Mergansers still.

Brimstone. Lots of these on the wing today, along with Peacocks and Commas.
