Oystercatcher and Redshank in the 'Gut'.
A Golden Plover was an unusual record off Mudbank this morning. It's definitely colder today but it doesn't feel 'Golden Plover' cold yet. Perhaps it's just a wanderer from the flock at the north end of the estuary. Also off Mudbank - 30 Redshank, c30 Common Gulls, c1000+ Dunlin, 20 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Greenshank, 10 Ringed Plovers, 1 female Teal, 6 Pintail and a male Sparrowhawk.
A Red Kite drifted high north over Bystock at 1210 pm - a unusual winter record for Exmouth. Also noted - 3 Firecrests, 3 Snipe, 3 Bullfinches, 3 Goldcrests, 2 Dartford Warblers, 2 Stock Doves and a single Moorhen on Bystock Pool.
Otherwise today - 24 Dark-bellied Brent Geese on Maer Rocks and a single Eider, way off towards the Warren.
