Spot Fly, Sandwich Terns

It's always nice to get an October Spotted Flycatcher although, to be fair, any Spotted Flycatcher at any time of year is good. Such characterful birds.

Orcombe Point from 0715 - 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 2+ Yellow Wagtails, 8 Chiffchaffs, 2 Stonechats and 2 Kestrels. Overhead passage was much reduced but 70 Swallows hurried low and west and c40 Meadow Pipits, 12 Pied Wagtails, 8 Siskins, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1+ House Martin were logged. Offshore - large numbers of gulls still with at least 5 Arctic Skuas in attendance and 9 Common Scoters past.
Good to see a decent-sized tern flock on Bull Hill, as the tide dropped, with 71+ Sandwich Terns and 4 Common Terns present along with numbers of Black-headed Gulls and at least 5 adult Mediterranean Gulls.
Very little time at Mudbank today with just 15 Great Crested Grebes, c90 Brent Geese, 9 Pintail, 165+ Curlew, 90 Shelducks and 15 Bar-tailed Godwits making it into the notebook.
