Sundew Plume

A long-held ambition to find Sundew Plume was realised this evening. Lu and I spent an hour before dark, searching a boggy area on the pebbled heaths, and eventually tracked one down. Not quite enough light for a good photo but wonderful to see this tiny, rare little 'micro', the larvae of which feed on Round-leaved Sundew.

Few birds today but 30+ Black-headed Gulls off Mudbank, along with 3 or 4 Sandwich Terns. The Yellow-legged Gull was around the recycling centre early on and still present around lunch-time. Lovely to see Rob, Steph and Andy today and great to catch up with Paul.

This is the foodplant - Round-leaved Sundew - photographed a couple days ago.

Brassy Tortrix Eulia ministrana. Only the second one of these I've seen.

The Yellow-legged Gull seems to be getting more reliable at the recycling centre. Still loafing on the roof at lunch-time today.

Diamond-back. Two of these seen today, along with a few Red Admirals, so clearly some migration going on.

Peregrine over the house this afternoon.

I'm assuming this is Common Broomrape. Appearance-wise I think it's ok for that species, and it's not near any Ivy, but it's clumped around the stump of a tree or shrub. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. There's Red clover nearby.
