Garden deaurana


Alexanders Conch Aethes deaurana. If I'd known one would turn up in the garden I might not have waved a net around the Maer, back at the start of the month. 

Garden moths recorded over the last few nights included Diamond-back, Blastobasis lacticolella, Carcina quercana, Yarrow Plume, Beautiful Plume, Crescent Plume, White Plume Moth, Agapeta hamana, Aethes deaurana, Large Ivy Tortrix, Celypha striana, Epinotia bilunanaZeiraphera isertana, Light Brown Apple Moth, Bramble Shoot Moth, Bee Moth, Dark Pine Knot-horn, Thistle Ermine, Crambus perlella, Chrystoteuchia culmella, Small Magpie, Udea olivalis, Mecyna asinalis, Box-tree Moth, Common Swift, Figure of Eighty, Blood-vein, Dwarf Cream Wave, Single-dotted Wave, Treble Brown Spot, Riband Wave, Garden Carpet, Ruddy Carpet, Yellow Shell, Purple Bar, Barred Straw, Common Marbled Carpet, Barred Yellow, Haworth's Pug, Lime-speck Pug, Freyer's Pug, Wormwood Pug, Common Pug, Grey Pug, Green Pug, Double-striped Pug, Yellow-barred Brindle, Clouded Border, Swallow-tailed Moth, Willow Beauty, Brussels Lace, Privet Hawkmoth, Eyed Hawkmoth, Elephant Hawkmoth, Buff-tip, Orange Footman, Common Footman, Buff Ermine, Cinnabar, Clouded Silver, Light Emerald, Heart and Club, Heart and Dart, Shuttle-shaped Dart, Flame Shoulder, Large Yellow Underwing, Small Square-spot, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Double Square-spot, Bright-line Brown-eye, Broad-barred White, Lychnis, Clay, Common Wainscot, Obscure Wainscot, Shoulder-striped Wainscot, Sycamore, Miller, Angle Shades, Light Arches, Dusky Brocade, Marbled Minor agg, Treble Lines, Uncertain, Vine's Rustic, Bordered Sallow, Cream-bordered Green Pea, Silver Y, Snout, Fan-foot and Small Fan-foot.

Birds - the second-summer Yellow-legged Gull is still in the recycling centre and off Mudbank - 2 Sandwich Terns, 51 Curlew and 4 Bar-tailed Godwits. Yesterday off there - c70 Black-headed Gulls and at least 2 first-summer Mediterranean Gulls.

The Yellow-legged Gull was stood on the roof of the recycling centre this morning - viewable from the pay and display carpark at the back.
