I feel so lucky to have this gorgeous bird so close to home. This afternoon was my first opportunity, since Monday, to have another look. It was higher up the park but the light was better, bringing out the greener tones beautifully. Otherwise today - 39+ Great Crested Grebes off Mudbank along with my first Goldeneye of the winter. Additionally - 5+ Red-breasted Mergansers and 35+ Teal. At least 40 Redwings were moving around gardens in our road and at least 2 Blackcaps are still knocking around.
Yesterday off Mudbank - 22 Teal and 4 Greenshank along with a Cetti's Warbler which was calling from scrub beside the viewing screen.
