Working in Hampshire again but managed to snatch some photos of Essex Skippers along arable field margins. In case anyone is wondering, it's the black underside of the antennal club, that makes them look like they've been dipped in ink, that distinguishes this species from the very similar Small Skipper.
I'm still not having much luck bird-wise but an Arctic Skua was annoying the gulls, off the seafront, yesterday morning and at least 45 Mediterranean Gulls were on Bull Hill in the afternoon.
Small Skipper. Orange underside to antennal club.
Marbled White.
Bordered Beauty.
Marbled Green.
