Wheatear - Foxholes.
Lu and I had a stroll round Orcombe this morning. Should have made the effort to do it at dawn really but the weather was stunning and it was really good to catch up with Paul. A Black Redstart briefly on a Foxholes rooftop would have been the highlight if I'd seen if for more than a few seconds but it disappeared. I popped back up this afternoon but it was generally pretty quiet. Totals included 1 Willow Warbler, 3 Wheatears, 2 Goldcrests, 4 Snipe, 2 Goldfinches, 2 Blackcaps, 4 Linnets and 3+ presumed 'continental' Song Thrushes.
Mudbank - 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 1 Whimbrel and 11 Canada Geese.
My first Willow Warbler of 2026 in the top fields.
Male Reed Bunting - West Lodge.
Stonechat - West Lodge. The wintering pair still present.
