Portland Ribbon Waves


At the very least - thirty-three Portland Ribbon Waves trapped last night. Hard to believe this species was a real rarity not that many years ago. Last night it was the most abundant species lured in. Also of note last night - 28 Jersey Tigers, 2 Turnip Moths, 1 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Olive-tree Pearl, 1 Blair's Mocha, 3 Rusty Dot Pearl, 2 Rush Veneer and 1 Horse Chestnut.

Orcombe really quiet yet again but 2 Swifts, 20+ Swallows, 1 Balearic Shearwater and 2 Manx Shearwaters logged. The 5cy Yellow-legged Gull was again in the recycling centre and off Mudbank - c70 Swallows, 2 Grey Plovers, 1+ Turnstone, 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Redshank, 45 Whimbrel, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 22 Shelduck, 30 Little Egrets, 2 Sandwich Terns, 1 Common Tern and 2 Dunlin.
Yesterday - 2 Spotted Flycatchers Bystock and off Mudbank - the first 5 Teal of the autumn, 46 Whimbrel, 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 sum plum Knot, 1 Grey Plover and 1 Ringed Plover.
