Eleven of eighteen Russian White-fronted Geese - Topsham.
Lu and I stopped to have a look at the 18 Russian White-fronted Geese near the Clyst viewing platform and had a stroll along the canal from Countess Wear to the Exe reedbed before popping into Aldi for a few bits. Birds noted were a male Marsh Harrier, Water Rail, 1 Tufted Duck, a couple Gadwall, 1 Common Sandpiper, 4+ Chiffchaffs and about half a dozen Reed Buntings.
A male Gadwall was the best bird off Mudbank today and yesterday off there - c120 Mallard, 13 Pintail, 3 Teal, c90 Wigeon, 1 Whimbrel, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers and 3 Greenshank. High numbers of Dunlin too but couldn't summon the enthusiasm to count them!

The Whimbrel has made it to the year's end.
