Black Red

The male Black Redstart showed well in the 'Gut' this morning. Otherwise, a day of pretty awful weather. The female Scaup was off Mudbank, along with 22 Wigeon, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 17 Great Crested Grebes and a Kingfisher. It was really good to catch up with John and Sally.
Yesterday - 1 Scaup, 73 Mallard, 21+ Great Black-backed Gulls and 1 Red-breasted Merganser.

  1. Smart bird. A while since I've seen a UK one.

It was foul here too. Other than an early supermarket shop where I had a Red Kite from the bus it was an indoors day where best was Coal Tit on the feeders!

  2. Hi Neil - we're lucky with Black Reds in Exmouth. Have never had a Coal Tit on our feeders though - just 1 Dunnock and a Robin visiting at the moment, if you don't include the Woodpigeons! Good to hear from you. Best wishes. Matt.
