An apparent drop-off in Dark-bellied Brent Goose numbers today with just 14 recorded from the back garden. Also today - 40+ Bar-tailed Godwit, 11 Black-headed Gull, 10+ Red-breasted Merganser, 17+ Shelduck, 14+ Little Egret, 5 Canada Goose, 32 Cattle Egret (nine left the roost at 0710 and the remaining 23 at 0730 - earlier than of late in milder weather), 5 Mute Swan, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2+ Grey Heron, 4 Common Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 150+ Curlew, 11 Wigeon, 1 Red Kite (over Powderham Corner at 1115 before gaining a lot of height and drifting north towards Exeter), 12+ Linnet (west), 6 Raven, 1+ Peregrine, 2 Stock Dove, 1 Green Woodpecker (resident bird), 1 Kestrel, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 Blackcap (singing male), 2 Chiffchaff and 2+ Sparrowhawk.
