This Garden Warbler sang, very furtively, on and off for most of the morning, eventually moving to the opposite side of the playing fields. Its only competition was a couple of the local Blackcaps.
Orcombe at dawn was pleasingly people-less and almost as bird-less. Two Great Northern Diver and a Hobby were the highlights, the latter heading low in a straight line north, having presumably just come 'in-off'.
Back home a Garden Warbler was singing and the Little Tern was again fishing up and down the channel off Starcross. Also today - 2 Siskin over north-east, 36 Whimbrel upriver with at least 50 more on Cockle Sands later. Additionally I recorded 15 Sandwich Tern, 5 Swallow, 5 House Martin, 2 Pale-bellied Brent Goose, 5 Dark-bellied Brent Goose and c85 Oystercatcher.
