Nightjar

 
If he hadn't done a brief early-evening 'churr' I'd have walked straight past him. Always a red letter day when you find a roosting Nightjar! Photographed from a safe distance - cropped photos below.
 
 


Brown Elm Bell Epinotia abbreviana - a highly variable and often quite plain species but this one is rather well marked.
