A mobile flock of c40/50+ Yellow Wagtails in the top fields today. Very nice to see. Also recorded on Orcombe first thing - 1+ Tree Pipit, 6 Wheatears, 1 'alba' wagtail, 3 Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Starling, 1+ Jay, c20 House Martin, c50 Swallow and the resident 3 Red-legged Partridges.
Off Mudbank - 120+ Mallard, 1 Wigeon, 1 Redshank, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 8 Whimbrel, 8 Knot, 10 Turnstone, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Yellow-legged Gull, 3 Pintail and at least 31 Common Terns.
Juvenile Yellow-legged Gull.
Juvenile Bar-tailed Godwit. Quite unbelievably I still haven't seen Black-tailed in Exmouth this year!
Juv Yellow-legged Gull.
Was so surprised to see just one Wigeon. Yesterday, from the garden, I witnessed several small groups arriving, totaling probably 30-40 birds. Was expecting more than three Pintail too after the recent influx.
