White Admiral

Four-banded Longhorn Beetle.

This tree-top hairstreak had 'Purple' written all over it but it turned out to be Green Hairstreak!

The Broad-leaved Helleborines are coming along nicely but only the individuals in the less shaded spots are flowering.

Marbled White Spot.

  1. Good to see the White Admirals. I went to Bookham Common last Friday & saw 4 of them, good numbers of Silver-washed Fritillaries but sadly no Purple Emperor, which is normally reliable here.

    A very late Green Hairstreak!

  2. Hi Neil - the White Admirals not quite so easy this year. Along with many others species, including Silver-washed frits, numbers not great. Was sure the hairstreak was gonna be Purple - flying round the top of an oak tree! Undeniably green underneath though. All the best. Matt
