Lesser Butterfly-orchid

Lesser Butterfly Orchid - South Dartmoor - took some finding but so chuffed to eventually locate four plants. Much more diminutive than the Greater Butterfly Orchids I've seen and, importantly, two pollen sacs aligned in parallel to one, another (they're angled apart in Greater). Birdwise - a couple brief looks off Mudbank revealed at least 17 Sandwich Terns, 60+ Black-headed Gulls, 1 first-summer Mediterranean Gull and my first Redshank for a while. Could things be improving?

A cotoneaster species - possibly Bearberry Cotoneaster Cotoneaster dammeri?

Creeping Forget-me-not - Prewley Moor.

Southern Damselfly - Prewley Moor. Large numbers seen this morning. Note the 'Mercury' mark on segment 2.

Redshank - Mudbank.

Pyramidal Orchid - 23 spikes appearing opposite Lidl. Also 39 Bee Orchids counted, and the Yellow Wort starting to flower.
