Eider

A surprise drake eider, east past Orcombe Point, shortly after 4pm this afternoon. I sketch stuff like this so that I'm prepared for the fly-past steller's eider one day - yeah right! This morning at 0530 just 1 great northern diver, 1 'commic tern' and 12 common scoter.
On 3/6 - Orcombe Point - 1 non-breeding plumaged great northern diver, 1 fulmar, c25+ common scoter, 4 sanderling, 2 dunlin, 4+ sandwich tern, 1 grey wagtail, 1 skylark (west out to sea!?) and 2 shelduck.
On 2/6 - Orcombe Point - 7 common scoter, 7 raven, 1 great northern diver, 1 female wheatear, 1 great skua and 18+ sandwich tern.

Smoke cloud coming out of Torbay after 3 kids set fire to Pontins Holiday Camp!

I'm still waiting for the bloody ross's gull to make its Exmouth debut and yet again, last night, it failed to materialise. Once again, however, a beautiful sunset meant it wasn't a complete waste of time looking at the river.
