Gropper, YLGs

Juvenile Willow Warbler - Orcombe Point.

Orcombe again reasonable this morning with 1 Grasshopper Warbler (another species I missed in the spring), 4+ Willow Warblers, 9 Swifts (west), 12+ Swallows, 1 Wheatear and 1 Ringed Plover. Also - 1 Peregrine, 1 Kestrel, a flock of 14 Skylark and small numbers of Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Whitethroat.
Mudbank counts included 214 Mallard, 3 Ravens, 1 Redshank and my first two juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls of the summer. As predicted, the 6cy Yellow-legged Gull was back in the coastal waste recycling centre.

Juvenile Yellow-legged Gull - Mudbank.

The same bird on the deck.

The second, much smaller bird.

Both birds together (with adult Herring gull). A huge difference in size presumably means they're different sexes.
.

Surprise, surprise! Back in the recycling centre for another summer.
