Four Blair's Mochas in the last couple nights. Looks like this very variable, formerly super-rare species, is fast becoming one of the more common geometrids. Migrants last nights were 1 Rush Veneer and 2 Rusty Dot Pearls. Yesterday - 1 Silver Y, 13 Rusty Dot Pearl and 2 Dark Sword Grass.
Off Maer Rocks early, on exposed sandbars - 40+ Sandwich Terns, 13 Sanderlings, 10 Mediterranean Gulls and 2 Kittiwakes. On Bull Hill - 5 Common Terns, 100+ Sandwich Terns, 20+ Mediterranean Gulls and 1 Whimbrel. Mudbank - 29 Whimbrel, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 11+ Mediterranean Gulls, 1 Grey Plover and a hefty jump in Mallard numbers with 79 counted.
