Thanks Mike - it was incredibly hot but we were always close to water thankfully. All YLGs seen were big, heavy-looking individuals - noticeably different to many of the birds I see in Exmouth which are presumably birds from much further west. Would love to have spent more time watching them but it was very much a family holiday so I didn't! All the best. Matt

Good post Matt, plenty of variation in the plumages of those juvs shown. Hope it wasn't too hot, perhaps you just missed the current heatwave?
