Bar-tailed Godwit - on the beach by the Lifeboat Station shortly after dawn.
It has been a bit of an odd day weather-wise here in Exmouth. Dawn was overcast with a bit of a north-easterly blowing and this afternoon has been grey but perfectly still. The mix of species on Orcombe this morning was equally odd. I started at 0530 and recorded 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 1 Redstart, a singing male Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Wheatear, 1 Willow Warbler, 1+ Siskin, 2 Stock Dove, and 1 Yellowhammer.
Mudbank yielded 4 summer-plumaged Grey Plover, 10 Bar-tailed Godwit and a high but noisy flock of c60+ Swift that slowly headed south-west.
Stock Doves
High Swifts - 6 of c60+ over Mudbank
