Purple Sands


Purple Sandpipers - Orcombe Point. Good to see these today. My first in ages. Purple Sands sadly appear to have abandoned Maer Rocks for the time being at least.

Orcombe Point - 2 Purple Sandpipers, 7 Turnstones, 8 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 1 Pale-bellied Brent Goose, 2 Rock Pipits and 1 Great Northern Diver.
Maer carpark - 2 Chiffchaffs.
West Lodge - 2 Chiffchaffs, 1 Bullfinch, 1 Kestrel, 3 Meadow Pipits and a Stonechat.
Mudbank - c140 Redshank, 11 Teal, 95+ Pintail, 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1+ Pale-bellied Brent Goose, 3 Red-breasted Mergansers, 25 Common Gulls, c4/500 Dunlin, c145 Shelduck and a pair of Peregrines.

Painted Lady

Very little to report. Three Lesser Black-backed Gulls and at least 1 Great Northern Diver off the seafront this morning. Mudbank a bit blown out still and quiet too with 1 Pale-bellied Brent Goose, 3 Greenshank, 1 Knot and 1 Red-breasted Merganser of any note.

Yesterday - nothing from storm Darragh but an Eider was off the seafront.

6/12 - Mudbank - 262+ Pintail, 5 Teal, 1 Shoveler and 4 Red-breasted Mergansers. The Cetti's Warbler was along the cycle path between Mudbank and West Lodge.

3/12 - Seafront -  4 Eider and 1 Common Scoter. West Lodge - 1 Stonechat, 1 Fieldfare, 3+ Chiffchaffs, 2 Goldcrests, 1 Siskin, 2+ Meadow Pipits and c30 Redwings.

1/12 - 2 Rock Pipits at the Imperial rec, 1 Cetti's Warbler at West Lodge and 2 Firecrests at Maer Farm.
