I think I wasted a lot of hours and invested too much emotion searching for stuff to be honest. As for GWEs - pretty sure one will find you before long. They'll soon be more common than Grey Herons!matt knotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08046950873625960430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7954321689092627929.post-6349618126139283162016-12-12T23:09:16.824-08:002016-12-12T23:09:16.824-08:00Hi Chris - both species possible but going to requ...Hi Chris - both species possible but going to require pure jam - being in the right place at the right time. EBR was in my mind whist looking for Black Reds on Sunday mind you. Bellies checked! Reckon you'll get Cattle Egret this winter - the Otter valley has a good track record. All the best.matt knotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08046950873625960430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7954321689092627929.post-46922628513345615852016-12-12T16:26:30.773-08:002016-12-12T16:26:30.773-08:00Great read Matt. It took me ages to find my own Cattle Egret, with Steve finding at least one or two right under my nose. I got there eventually, but haven't done so with GWE. Again, Steve found two GWE on the Axe just minutes before I was going to look from the same spot! I don't think I have the application (or strategic thinking!) needed for self-finding!

Mind you, I do have Waxwing. No effort involved, just fluke :-)Gavin Haighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17242398421328525578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7954321689092627929.post-39458273409657005152016-12-12T12:36:29.243-08:002016-12-12T12:36:29.243-08:00Had a look at the Egret roost in Budleigh tonight,...Had a look at the Egret roost in Budleigh tonight, but no luck as yet. Maybe we would be better looking for Sibe Accentors and Eastern Black Redstarts! The latter seems a fair possibility after the Tewkesbury bird.Chris Townend (Jaffa)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13017435496784035951noreply@blogger.com
